!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every game will have that ONE character that annoys you to no end. A character that gets on your nerves because of his personality, backstory and all-around manners around the player and others around him/her. So I'm counting down the 5 gaming characters that annoy me to no end... As of recently.

5 - Lyric, Sonic Boom
Eh... my hate for Elise kinda dwindled after a while... I mean, I STILL dislike her guts and how borderline useless she can be (yeah I know she has other powers of her own, but she uses them only on gameplay and never in any cutscenes to make it part of the story, I guess Sonic 06 was suffering from Final Fantasy syndrome) but after Lyric from Boom came around, I kinda shifted my focus. To me, he performs a bigger crime than Elise by stripping us from a much FUNNIER villain, instead giving us a plain, no-surprises bad guy with no distinct personality and the cliche goal of "taking over the world with machines". And in the end, that's why he's down here. Yeah, bigger crime than Elise, but that's because at least she had more to offer by comparison. Nothing new comes out of Lyric, outside of lousy technopathy that Seymour could easily beat.

4 - Ashley Graham, Resident Evil 4
So what's worse than characters that offer little to the game? Characters that offer BAD things to the game. Ashley, in and on herself, is not TOO annoying IMO, as most games point out, but.... yeah, her personality starts wearing off on you after a while... She seems just annoyed by things happening around her, doesn't often seem caring about Leon except when things indicate he might date her, and when he has to get her out of a jam (which IS often) and we see she CAN fend off for herself at least slightly, so why do we have to hear her scream "LEEEON" over and over!! The voice acting doesn't help what is already a poorly-written character that does get on my nerves... just not THAT much.

3 - Demyx, Kingdom Hearts series
I hate how I get toyed around by a wimp, I hate his stupid nonsensical haircut, I hate his freaking infernal time-limit attack with the water clones, I HATE this guy till eternity!! Organization XIII? XIV? Ish? Whatever, without him, I'm okay with it. I mean, okay, going back to it, I'm not TOO spiteful towards him, but the idea that a boss who was built up to that point as a complete wimp baffles me. It's not that he suddenly turns out to be a proficient fighter, that's really not what bothers me. Demyx' annoyance comes from how the game, according to the KH Wiki, suddenly decided to pull the Nobody card and have him show his "true self" as a non-feeling entity without emotions... oh, except when he cries in anguish during his death, THEN he can emote. And his fight is annoying too, due to his constant combos with water pillars, tricky reaction command and, of course, the time-limit attack that can instantly defeat you if you don't kill his water clones in a set time. Why? No idea.

2 - Lightning, Final Fantasy XIII & spin-offs
Yeah, let's get back to what SquareEnix defines as a "perfect character"... Lightning doesn't work and annoys me because she lacks originality and applies to the scriptwriting shortcut of having a character be "badass and broody with a dark past and even dimmer destiny" because the writer doesn't know how to properly create a cheerful soul for the final product, and the ones they DO create are either annoyingly immature or immaturely annoying (hey there, Vanille). Lightning annoys me because she rarely ever smiled in any scene of FFXIII or conveyed any actual emotion other than blandness, anger or revolt. Even Snow, despite being a complete idiot, at least could ACT his way out of a scenario. Even HOPE at least gave me a decent performance, and that kid has ISSUES. Lightning?? Nothing. I NEVER saw her smile, not even once. And that's not a character, Square. I refuse to call her a character, and I refuse to like her, no matter how many spin-offs you insist on throwing at our faces.

1 - Zinnia, Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire
Again, the only worst thing to me than a character that offers nothing new, is a character that offers everything wrong to the table. Pokémon ORAS' Delta Episode features Lorekeeper Zinnia, a character that the game tries so hard to push as being just as good as Emma from X/Y's own Looker Bureau post-game. But the difference is that while Emma's story is somewhat interesting and you do feel sorry for the predicament she's been thrown at, Zinnia's story feels completely indifferent to me and my judgement of her character. Ah, so she's a descendant of an ancient civilization in charge of worshiping Rayquaza? Yeah, we'll see how that goes in a bit. Meanwhile, let's talk about character. The first thing that annoys me is how she knows EXACTLY from which people to steal Keystones from to perform her oh-so clever plan of mega-evolving Rayquaza, whose owners are all people centered around the player. And don't come telling me that Team Aqua/Magma was keeping an eye on the player and her, disguised as a grunt, got the info from the respective leaders, because even the LEADERS are surprised to see you at the places they go to for their own plans. So yeah, a stalker, and since the Keystone thing doesn't work in the end, a lowly thief who rushes to conclusions. She also will always address the player as she'd address a toddler that's just learning how to speak basic English, clapping in joy and saying "that's my boy!" when you HAVE to understand what she's spewing from her foul mouth. She also preaches during the Episode on how scientists don't actually know what they do and how they're dooming other worlds with their portal project to teleport the asteroid away from their world, which might hit another world. Valid argument to me, since I believe in/use the "other worlds" theory, but ummm, hey asshat? WHY CAN'T THEY ALSO THROW THE ASTEROID INTO THE SUN?? And also, YOU don't get to preach about harming worlds, when your people can summon Rayquaza, the BOSS of Kyogre and Groudon, to make them calm themselves down so the world YOU live in won't be liquidated by heavy rainfall or eternal drought!! So yeah, just to recap, this "developed, deep and caring" character is a stalker, a preacher, a patronizer, a hypocrite, a thief and a self-elected idiot who couldn't save the world she LIVES in, let alone the other ones she said existed!! I like her music themes, sure, but Zinnia? I hope Rayquaza asks you to be SACRIFICED. I'll take Emma any other day.

I really think you're hating on Zinnia way too much. She isn't meant to be a comparison to Emma in any way and you're trying to make one that's not there. As for your theory on throwing the asteroid into the sun, you really need to keep in mind that they were barely able to make the technology to teleport it at all. They have absolutely no means of piloting it or controlling where it ends up. I think she kinda does have the right to preach since she has all of that responsibility on her shoulders: it's extremely reasonable that she would want to prevent ANY world from coming to harm. I'm sure if she could summon the Rayquaza of the alternate world to save said alternate world, she would: But she doesn't have that power. Finally, everyone makes mistakes. Her plan was considerably well thought out, she simply didn't ESTIMATE the minimum amount of evolution stones necessary. She gathered all the ones she knew about anyway. I didn't necessarily like or dislike her but I think you're really too hard on her.
